Carles Romagosa, Ekkono method co-author, is going to lead this project as FIFA High Performance Specialist in Talent Development Scheme (TDS).
With the aim of helping member associations reach their full potential and ensuring that all talented players are given the chance to develop and be discovered, the scheme seeks to create a sustainable legacy for long-term player development, maximizing the opportunities provided in each participating member association.
This program aims to provide every talent with the opportunity to play for their national teams through a rigorous process of selection, training, and competition. Romagosa will be responsible for advising several federations across the Americas to enhance the long-term competitiveness of their senior national teams. His extensive experience and scientific approach to football training will be crucial in helping these federations identify and develop top talent.
The TDS is designed to help member associations reach their full potential. Currently, 175 member associations have a development plan in place under the scheme, with the main objective being to raise the football standards of their men’s and women’s national teams.
A key focus of the TDS initiative is to invest in academies, with FIFA planning to ensure that 75 of its member associations have at least one high-performance academy or centre of excellence in place by 2027. Additionally, the initiative aims to expand youth tournaments and hold them more regularly. This comprehensive approach ensures that federations have the tools and knowledge needed to foster talent and build strong national teams.
This partnership is a significant step in FIFA's mission to nurture global football talent. Romagosa's, expertise will help federations in the Americas develop stronger, more competitive teams, contributing to the overall growth and success of the sport worldwide.
