The Ekkono Method and Japan have always had a special connection since we first visit the country more than 15 years ago, when we carried out the first Ekkono Camp in the country. It was a bit later, on April 2014 when after a year collaborating together with JFA (Japanase Football Association) we decided to open our own Ekkono Academy in Japan.
Nowadays, Ekkono counts with two football academies in the two biggest cities of Japan: Tokyo and Osaka. Both academies put into practice the Ekkono Smart Method, in order to help the more than 220 players attending the academies, to learn all about individual fundamentals of football while they have fun.
The academies divide the training sessions into three age groups (U10, U11 and U12), and 6 different contents are taught to each group during the season. However, there is one fundamental which is worked in every training session and in which Ekkono put all the focus: Perception.
Perception is an essential part of the decision-making process and one of the four pillars of the Ekkono Smart Method. Therefore, enhancing players' perception skills will help them to understand better the game, take better decisions and improve on the other fundamentals.
On the other hand, Ekkono Academies offers to all its players the chance to show up their skills in a competition scenario since the two academies take part in different competitions all over the country. Moreover, twice a year, a selection of players for both academies travel to Spain to compete with best clubs of the world in U10 & U12 International Tournaments.
